Draft response to the Long Term Plan

Involving local people in the development of our plans

The NHS Long Term Plan sets out an ambitious vision for the NHS over the next ten years and beyond as medicines advance, health needs change and society develops. It outlines how the NHS will give everyone the best start in life; deliver world-class care for major health problems, such as cancer and heart disease, and help people age well. The East London Health and Care Partnership is responsible for working with partners across north east London to develop a local response to the NHS Long Term Plan.

We have developed a draft Strategy Delivery Plan that includes our response to the Long Term Plan, and also takes into account the key challenges we face (such as population growth) as a health and care system over the next decade.  The draft plan builds on our sustainability and transformation plan produced in 2016, and incorporates feedback from local people about their needs, concerns and experiences to help us to develop and deliver the best possible health and care services, covering a five year period from 2019/20 to 2023/24.

We want to know what you think!

Our Long Term Plan for north east London is still in development and we are keen that local people, our partners and stakeholders have an opportunity to help us shape the content. We want to hear from you on what we should do to make care better for you and your northeast London community – your ideas and feedback will help to shape the development of the Long Term Plan for north east London.

Please complete our survey by 5pm on Friday 25 October.

Draft sections of this plan, which we submitted as a first draft to NHS England/Improvement on 27 September 2019, can be found in the download section on the right hand side of this page. The draft plan is rather long, and we felt that chunking it up into these sections would make it easier to comment on, particularly if you have an interest in a particular area of health and care. If you have any comments, questions or think anything is missing, we would really like to hear from you.

Please email elhcp.enquiries@nhs.net before Friday 25 October 2019 so that we can make sure your comments are considered before the document is finalised in November.
