Simon Hall
Director of Transformation for the East London Health and Care Partnership

Simon has over thirty years’ experience in a variety of roles in the NHS and social care at local and national level, mainly relating to commissioning, strategy and planning.  In his role as our Director of Transformation, Simon leads on the overall co-ordination and delivery of all our partnership, and he is also the London CCG/STP lead for the London Fast-Track Cities Initiative.

Simon started out in the NHS after being a community activist in the early years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and set up a number of HIV/AIDS voluntary sector organisations.  He is passionate about equalities and human rights, and the NHS.  In his previous role in Greenwich CCG, Simon set up GP provider networks and led the development of a community hospital.

Until last December Simon was Managing Director for Tower Hamlets CCG (from September 2016), having started as its Director of Commissioning in May 2016.  During Simon’s time at Tower Hamlets the CCG received an Outstanding rating for two years running, and was nominated for the Health Service Journal’s CCG of the Year.  Simon also led the development of joint commissioning with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, the successful delivery of a collaborative alliance contract for community health services, and the Tower Hamlets Together Vanguard programme.  Simon also led the development of the new cancer Early Diagnostic Centre, which should open in Mile End at the end of 2019.

In addition to being a proud parent, Simon has a number of roles outside of work: a Governing Trustee of the University Schools Trust, a Trustee of Metro charity, and is on the Board of his local residents’ association.
